BECKY WINS SECOND MEDAL AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Britain’s track cycling team ended their 2014 World Championships campaign with five medals after Laura Trott and Becky James won medals on the last day.

Olympic champion Trott, 21, won silver in the six-race omnium for a second successive year, while defending Champion Becky James was third in the keirin.

The Abergavenny Road Club rider, who won two titles and four medals overall in Minsk last year, said winning just two bronze medals this year would spur her on.

“It was incredible to win all those medals last year but it’s kind of nice to have this setback as I have so much to work towards now,” said James, who is aiming to ride for Wales at the Commonwealth Games, which begin in July in Glasgow.
