105 at Awards and Social Evening

What a great night with 105 attending to celebrate Abergavenny Road Club’s successes in 2013

Not many cycle clubs can boast two World Champions (Becky James and Amy Hill), The UK Womens’ Road Race Champions, National Cyclocross Champions (Ffion and Megan James), the National U8s Road Champion (Dan Wylie-Morris), having Welsh Champions in various categories, being named Welsh Cycling’s Club of the Year, and with a British Lion to boot!!

A buffet meal was followed by a great speech by the Chairman Owen Davies then David James’ now traditional awards ceremony and presentation of Club Awards. In addition to the cycling awards, Julia Thomas was named Clubman of the Year and Mark Prosser was named Club Volunteer.

In a unique challenge held on the night, the top 3 finishers of the Tyre Change Time Trial were Tim Beckingsale 1.46, Tom Sturdy 1.24 and our winner and current record holder is Malcolm Cole 1.15
