    1. Hi,
My son has been interested in joining your club since the start of the year. He is 10 years of age and a confident bike rider. He has been able to ride independently since he was 3.
We live in Torfaen so are currently in local lockdown. Once these restrictions are lifted, would be able to come for a taster session? If yes, do we book through Eventbrite like stated above?
      Kind Regards

      • Hi there, yes we would be delighted to see your son at our sessions, once the restrictions are lifted. You will need to book through Eventbrite and complete a rider consent form. Keep an eye out for when it goes live (usually Tuesday 8pm) as we have restricted numbers at the moment and places are going fast. Chris

    4. Hi. I just wondered if you knew when you’re doing the kids Go Ride sessions again please?

My six year old daughter did them before lockdown and is keen to continue.

    5. I am very pleased that your club thrives, and it may be the oldest existing club in abergavenny and well done for that. However, my grandfather rode for Abergavenny Cycle Club in the 1880’s and 1890’s. I have his bronze medal, dated 19th October 1893, for a 50 mile road race on his penny farthing – 3 hours and 58 minutes; Silver medal, dated 14th October 1894, for a 25 mile road race – 1 hour 25 minutes and a silver pocket watch, inscribed ACC, the ‘President’s Prize’ 1895 winner 50 miles road race time 2 hours 15 minutes. I also have several photos of him in his ‘cycling strip’ – tweed jacket and plus four style trousers.
These are treasured mementoes of a grandfather who died before I was born, passed to me as the only cycling member of ‘his’ family… my only claim to fame is that I hold the local 10 miles TT club record on a tricycle! Good luck with your club for the future.

      • Thank you for sharing Lyn, and what wonderful mementos you have of your grandfather’s cycling achievements. I’m glad to hear his interest in cycling passed to you, and I hope you’re still riding!
